Helping those with a desire to learn sprout, bloom, and grow

Hello, I’m Taylor, and I am incredibly passionate about education and providing people of all ages the confidence and motivation to learn. I have been learning about and working in education for 10+ years. I specialize in working with students who may need a differentiated approach to learning. In 2022 I stepped away from teaching within a public school classroom setting and started tutoring and teaching students in their own homes. I believe in meeting students where they are at and helping them grow from there. I’d love to get in contact and discuss how I can best help your family.

  • "She is empathetic and understands what it's like to be a student who may lack confidence, feel stressed, be overwhelmed or just not understand the material. She is super enthusiastic about her job and performs it well. She has a passion for both her students and the material she teaches."

FAQs

  • In August 2023, I earned my Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Positive Behavior Supports. Prior to that, I graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2018 with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education. I have worked in the classroom for 4 years and have 10+ years of teaching and tutoring experience.

  • My background is mainly in elementary education helping students gain the foundational skills necessary to be successful readers, writers, and mathematicians. Additionally, I have lots of experience in helping students develop executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, advocating for self, planning, etc.

I also have an intensive educational background in history, social studies, and math. I also love reading and writing and helping students find a love for that as well. There are only a few subjects I do not feel comfortable teaching and would recommend finding someone more qualified to help in those particular areas, those mainly being subjects within the sciences (i.e. physics, chemistry, biology, etc.). I feel confident in my ability to tutor students up through Calculus as long as I am given the materials beforehand to review and prepare to best help your child.

  • My current rate is $70.00 per hour for one child and an additional $25.00 an hour per added child (For example, if a family would like me to work with their 2 children during the same one hour session the total would be $95.00 for that hour, the original $70 plus the additional $25). There are discounts available depending on travelling accommodations or specific circumstances discussed on a case-by-case basis. Note: prices are subject to change.

  • It depends on what is best for your family as well as what I can make work in my schedule.

  • I am a firm believer in meeting students where they are at and helping them from there. The only way I can truly help a student is by getting to know them. A positive rapport is necessary for growth to occur. I utilize frequent check-ins with parents and the student’s teachers (if enrolled in a public, private, or charter school, or in a homeschool group/program. Consistency is one of the strongest indicators of achievement and growth. It’s important to keep in mind that each child is different. One student’s growth may look much different than another’s. It’s crucial for students, parents, and teachers to understand that I am only comparing a child’s growth to themselves.

“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.”
